ps~ Six of my older lovelies are in a local art display. My recent work doesn't have frames, yet, so they'll have to wait. But still, I'm pleased.

I like Sci-Fi Battle most. Explosive Sunset is a close second though. : )
Did you have the idea in advance to do a series, or it came about as you were creating new paintings?
Do I remember you saying you found red a calming colour, whereas many of us, me included, find it fiery, angry, or rousing?
Great to see you painting so much DJ.
I love the fiery female. You got the heat right in all of them. Hard for me to imagine right now because it is winter here in Cape Town. I always envy all the snow scenes I see on everyone's blogs in December, I can't wait.
Phew! it's hot over here. All the warm colours! You're hopping DJ. Great work. Love the first one.
Hot!! I too love the Fiery Female, but all are stunning. Great power and vibrant color. Well done. . .
What do I think? I think they're all fantastic. I especially like "Sci-fi Battle" and "Twin Forest Fire"
Congrats on having your are on display! That's great!!
Dan: These were not planned, with the exception of the preparation of a complete coat of red paint on canvas surface and sides. I was trying to stop drawing on the canvas, & start painting. My fingers took over in most of these.
And yes, red usually calms me; I think the schoolyear's stress & frustrations have something to do with these images coming out of my subconscious.
Caryl~ There are those of us who would welcome some cooler temps right about now...enjoy every season. :-)
Robyn: Thanks for stopping by, Friend, and I still owe you an e-mail.
Gary: Thanks for commenting. Hope the photography is going well.
Janet~ Thanks for letting me know which ones you like. I'm prolly going to paint over "Fleeing Fire"...there's too much drawing there for what I'm after.
Just like all of us, we're a work in progress...so, from one WIP to another,
Thanks for posting, my friends.
Hi DJ,
The paintings look beautiful. Great idea for a series. How is your summer so far? My husband and I are taking a printmaking class, starting Monday. I've been working on house projects, so I can get them out of the way, and enjoy the rest of my summer!
Love these! Really intense.
Wow! I think it's a good thing that the heat is getting you. These are amazing.

Love the bold colors - nice work DJ!!
Hi DJ,
I can feel a part of summer by looking at the first two paintings. Wish you add a piece for the part of summer of the deep green forest with creatures hiding inside, wet,hot and... Well, just an idea:-). BTW, I love the blue series below too. Thanks so much for comments on my paintings!

DJ, I thought I had commented on these - they are amazing - I love red - especially with a touch of yellow, a touch of black. :)
I also love the comment you left on my last post. Indeed, what we can become in the master's hands.......
Thank you!
These are wonderful--love that color!
These are all remarkable,,,but the first two really grab me!
I can certainly feel the fire,,even if we didn't have heat indexes at 115, which we do.
Wonderful heat and textures in all of these,,,,and super, super they are on exhibition!
The explosive energy in the first two- Wowee! Looks like you're happy to finish the school year and are embracing your summer whole souled. I love them. They look like freedom.
I've just read the comments and was pleased to see what you said to Dan about the school year. It shows.

Thanks for always being there for me.
AND WOW!! I love the Explosive Sunset. It is my favorite. The colors are hot and there is so much movement created by your strokes that my eye can't calm down, doesn't want to calm down but just drink the whole painting in over and over.
Way to take the summer heat and make something awesome from it.
These explain EXACTLY the weather here in Germany. Awesome! I like the dust bowl best. Happy creations dj!!
Hi DJ!!
Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm really enjoying your vibrant palette and bold brushestrokes; just fabulous!!!
Red is one my favorite colors, so the more the better! :)
Hugs & Blessings,
Michelle :)
Wow I can certainly feel the heat from these paintings. You captured the fire well. Love the many colors that make the reds stand out. Whoa, I need a glass of lemonade now so I can cool off.
Wow, lots of drama in these, nice work DJ!
