Hey, Friends! Just sharing some photos...

Naturally, I get a lovely headcold Friday afternoon before a beautiful weekend, but I can't complain. I rested and played on the computer.
Okay, below, I did prep a 24x24"canvas with a yellow underpainting, then I wanted to paint over an older piece, so above is an 8x10" oil "Saturday Angel". He's a bit gritty, but I like him.

Since the temps were in the 60s & 70s during this very unwinter-like weekend, I was lured outside and below are some backyard snaps taken with my new Canon EOS Rebel T3:

So, what did YOU do this weekend? Besides watch the SuperBowl, I mean... :-)
That's really nice. Now, go make art.
Love & Laughter,
DJ

We were practicing with a watercolor brush I am now addicted to....a Pentel brush with a water reservoir attached for travel....boy do I love it and so did Pilar!!! We could watercloor sitting on the couch with that and no water mess.....worth a try....amazon carries them, also a Niji....is good!! I just want to encourage you to continue putting that treasured paint on a canvas and I look forward to seeing what it is!!!HUGS AND BIG BLESSINGS TO YOU!!!! SHERRY
DJ, Saturday Angel is my favourite to date. Just beautiful! Hope you feel better soon.
DJ, that angel is beautiful! just as he is, rough and perfect
I always love a 'gritty' angel,,,I mean they work so hard, why wouldn't they be gritty?
So glad you came by,,,I'd lost you for a while, having moved out of state, and bought a new computer.
Now I need some time to browse through and see what all you've been doing.
Now, get to feeling LOTS better soon!
( I like what Brady's wife said about the loss of the game. She has a valid point)
:-)
Just love your "gritty" angel!!! xx
Image 3 of the bark and whorl - LOVE.
Bigger image of angel please - looks intriguing - love the colours and textures - ethereal and earthy at once.
Yes, your angel shows such movement- you were lucky to get a good pic before s/he left! I had a feeling of connection there. Nice work.
Thanks for sharing your weekend of wonder. I admire your creative passion and energy. Your joy comes through in your work.
I can't wait to see what you do with that yellow canvas!
I like the grittiness of that angel. I can identify with grit (in more ways than one).
Last weekend? As today is kind of a holiday, still seems like the weekend. I spent the day buying art supplies! What a rush! Finally had some cash for new brushes and real-honest-to-goodness art paints. So many ideas - so little time...
